Jeremy Hanna

Hi, I’m Jeremy Hanna, the founder and owner of Hanna Law Firm. Here’s some of my personal story for those of you who are interested.

Family:

I’m married to Megan Farley. We have two children, Ryan and Michael. Megan, Ryan, and Michael make all of my time outside of the practice of law interesting. You can see some of what’s going on for us by friending me on Facebook.

Upbringing:

I grew up in the small town of St. Amant, Louisiana. It is named after a Catholic Saint, but we pronounce it as if it rhymes with Panama.

Growing up, I learned the values of being honest, being straightforward, and being of service to my family, friends, and community. I also learned from my parents, who started and to this day run several small businesses, the discipline and perseverance it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.

Education:

For my undergraduate education, I studied at Louisiana State University and the University of Hawaii at Hilo. I graduated with degrees in Philosophy and English.

For my legal education, I studied at Louisiana State University Law School and attended summer programs put on by Tulane University Law School. In addition to my school and work load during law school, I also served as a member of the Louisiana Law Review. I graduated with a Juris Doctor degree and Graduate Diploma in Civil Law. Immediately after law school, I studied for and passed the Louisiana bar exam.

Obtaining my law license also qualified me to become a Notary. I applied for and was appointed as a Notary shortly after passing the bar.

For my mediation education, I received training at a program dedicated to Alternative Dispute Resolution put on by Tulane University Law School. Since registering as a civil mediator, I have received training at Loyola University Law School in family and divorce mediation.

Work Experience Before Founding Hanna Law Firm:

On top of studying during law school, and being a member of the Louisiana Law Review, I worked for federal Judge Marcia Crone, and for several attorneys, including the recently appointed and confirmed federal Judge John deGravelles.

Immediately after graduating from law school and passing the bar exam, I worked for Garden City Group in administering the settlement of claims against BP following the catastrophic Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion and spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

I then went to work for the law firm of Duncan & Sevin, LLC, an insurance defense firm that focuses mainly on maritime law and trucking cases.

You can see why I founded Hanna Law Firm and what values we serve on our Firm Values Page.
